Circular Food Innovators Fund — Funding to Replace Single-Use Items (Closes March 1)
The City is launching a new round of funding through the Circular Food Innovators Fund (CFIF) to help small businesses and non-profits implement reusable foodservice systems that replace single-use and takeaway items. The goal is to support practical, scalable alternatives that reduce waste while maintaining convenience for customers.
This may be a fit if your business uses a high volume of takeaway containers, cutlery, cups, or packaging—and you’re interested in piloting or expanding reusable systems. Building on the 2024 program, successful applicants may also be eligible for green workforce development funding to help grow Toronto’s circular food economy.
To prepare, consider:
What single-use items you want to replace first
How a reusable system could work operationally (returns, cleaning, storage)
What staff training or customer messaging might be needed
What suppliers or partners you may need
Deadline: Sunday, March 1
