Community Care Project Disposal Request Program
The Community Care Project is a collaborative initiative funded by the City of Toronto Downtown East Action Plan, addressing the presence of discarded drug use supplies in our neighborhoods. We're a team of four partner agencies – PASAN, Dixon Hall, Regent Park Community Health Centre, and Street Health – working together to ensure the safe disposal of these items and build a safer community for everyone.
How the Disposal Request Program Works
We understand that encountering discarded drug use supplies can be concerning. That's why we've made it easy to request disposal:
Spot a Discarded Item: If you see a discarded needle or other drug use supply in the downtown east side neighborhoods of Toronto, take note of the location.
Report the Location: You can report the location in two ways:
Scan the QR Code: Find our poster and scan the QR code with your smartphone.
Fill Out the Online Form: Visit https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSegVlS8sePbEeM6blVRPc0im2d3Ov0MWTootthRCgve6a8AXw/viewform to fill out a simple disposal request form.
Provide Information: The form will ask for details about the location of the discarded item.
Our Team Responds: Our team will respond to your request within 24-48 hours and arrange for safe disposal.
Why This Matters
Community Safety: Discarded drug use supplies pose a risk to everyone in our community. Safe disposal minimizes this risk.
Neighbourhood Well-being: A clean and safe environment contributes to the overall well-being of our neighborhoods.
Collaborative Effort: This project demonstrates the power of collaboration between community agencies to address important issues.
