PASAN’s Harm Reduction Community Care (HRCC) Project

PASAN’s Harm Reduction Community Care (HRCC) Project supports a safer downtown east side through the safe collection and disposal of discarded harm reduction supplies, including needles and other sharps. This is an important resource for businesses that may occasionally encounter sharps in laneways, near bins, doorways, or landscaped areas.

HRCC can support the community by:

  • Responding to clean-up requests and removing used harm reduction supplies and litter

  • Training staff on safe sharps disposal practices

  • Providing sharps disposal bins

  • Picking up full bins and replacing them as needed

Even if you don’t need support right now, it can be helpful to share this with managers and staff so there’s a clear plan if something is found. Safety and clarity reduce stress for everyone.
