Accessibility at The Cabbagetown Festival

We’re committed to making The Cabbagetown Festival welcoming, comfortable, and accessible for everyone. If you have accessibility questions or need assistance during the Festival, please connect with our team.

♿ Accessible Routes

The Festival takes place primarily on paved streets and sidewalks. Space for wheelchair access will be maintained at all entries and exits, and accessibility ramps will be available to assist wheelchair users in accessing sidewalks. Some areas may be busier during peak periods.

🚻 Accessible Washrooms

Accessible portable washrooms will be available at all designated washroom locations throughout the Festival site. Locations will be clearly marked on Festival signage and the Festival map, which will be updated here shortly.

🪑 Accessible Seating & Stage Viewing

Accessible seating and viewing areas will be available at Festival stages and key programming areas, with chairs placed in front of the stages for those in need of them. These spaces are intended for visitors using mobility devices and their companions, and encourage those who may not need to sit to allow others with accessibility needs to use them. Picnic tables will also be stationed throughout the Festival footprint.

Service animals are welcome throughout the Festival.

🚐 Wheel-Trans & Passenger Drop-Off

Wheel-Trans and accessible passenger drop-offs should use space available at Sherbourne/Carlton and Gerrard/Parliament for designated drop-off. Select here for information on booking or taking a Wheel-Trans service.

🦽 Mobility Devices & Personal Transportation

Wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers, and other mobility aids used by people with disabilities are welcome throughout the Festival. For safety in crowded areas, all mobility devices should be operated at a safe and controlled speed appropriate to pedestrian traffic. Please slow down in congested areas, maintain a safe distance from others, and follow directions from Festival staff and volunteers.

E-bikes, bicycles, e-scooters, and other recreational or personal transportation devices are not considered accessibility devices and should not be ridden through crowded Festival areas. Where permitted, these devices should be walked through pedestrian areas and parked or secured in an appropriate location outside the main Festival footprint.

🔋 Mobility-Device Charging

At this time, dedicated mobility-device charging stations are not available at the Festival.

🚗 Accessible Parking & TTC

Accessible on-street parking is available in the surrounding neighbourhood, subject to City of Toronto parking regulations and temporary Festival road closures. Visitors are encouraged to check the City of Toronto's accessible parking information before arriving.

🤫 Sensory-Friendly & Quiet Spaces

The Festival includes a range of environments, from busy stages and performances to quieter neighbourhood areas. While we do not have a dedicated sensory-friendly space, visitors looking for a quieter place to take a break can move away from the main stage areas and high-traffic programming, and into local businesses, if needed.

Please note that the new EDM Stage at Carlton/Ontario, as well as other performance areas, will feature amplified music and may have higher sound levels. A Festival map with detailed performance locations will be shared shortly.

🧭 Signage & Wayfinding

Accessible washrooms and key Festival areas will be identified through Festival signage located throughout the Festival, and on the map provided in advance and at Festival entrances and the Info Tent.
