Free Naloxone Training and Kits to Support Cabbagetown Businesses
The recent closures of neighboring overdose prevention sites, including those at Regent Park, South Riverdale Community Health Centre, and Toronto Public Health’s The Works, are anticipated to lead to an increase in public drug overdoses in our community, potentially affecting local businesses in the Cabbagetown BIA.
In response, Street Health is proactively offering free training sessions and Naloxone kits to businesses within Cabbagetown. This initiative aims to empower local businesses to recognize the signs of a drug overdose and administer Naloxone, a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of opioid overdose.
While we sincerely hope that these kits will never need to be used, having them readily available can make a critical difference in an emergency situation and potentially save a life.
